This Privacy Policy explains how Tatras Data (“Tatras Data”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, discloses, and protects information when you visit https://tatrasdata.com or use the Boli learning app and platform (also called Khalis Hunar). We are committed to safeguarding your privacy.
This policy covers two products: the Tatras Data website, and the Boli educational app used by schools.
The Tatras Data website
Information we collect on the website
- Personal information you volunteer, such as name, email, phone number, or other details when you contact us, sign up, or make a purchase
- Usage information such as IP address, browser type, operating system, pages visited, and date and time of access
- Cookies and similar technologies to operate and improve the website. You can manage cookies in your browser settings

The Boli learning app
Boli is an educational platform operated by Tatras Data for schools and training organisations. Student accounts for children are normally created by the school, not by open public sign-up. Schools authorise collection and use of student information for literacy instruction and assessment.
Who this covers
- Students (including learners under 13 in school programmes)
- Teachers, organisation admins, and platform operators
What we collect and how we collect it
- Account: name, email, role, organisation, class/cohort — provided by the school or entered at sign-in
- Demographics when the school records them: age, gender
- Learning activity: answers, scores, reflections, practice history — created as you use the app
- Voice recordings for read-aloud and pronunciation scoring — captured from the microphone after you agree in the app
- Page photos or screenshots — captured from the camera, photo library, or in-app reader after you agree
- Chat messages, written answers, and optional file attachments — typed or uploaded by you after you agree
- Optional profile photos
- Technical data — login tokens on the device and server logs (for example IP address for security and abuse limits)
The Boli mobile app does not use advertising SDKs and does not sell personal information.
How we use Boli information
- Provide reading, writing, listening, and speaking practice and assessment
- Score pronunciation and writing and give educational feedback
- Show progress to the student, teachers, and organisation admins
- Secure accounts and send welcome or password-reset email when configured
- Operate and improve reliability of the platform
Third-party AI and speech services
Boli’s servers receive your data first. To run the learning feature you requested, we may then send only the relevant pieces to processors that your school has configured:- Microsoft Azure Speech — voice recordings and the text you are reading, for pronunciation scoring
- OpenAI — voice transcription; page photos (vision/OCR to extract printed text); some chat and writing help; optional text-to-speech or images
- Google Gemini — chat, writing feedback, reflections, and story help when the school uses Gemini
- Anthropic (Claude) or a school-hosted model — only if the organisation configured that provider
These companies process data only to provide that educational function. We require them to protect the data with safeguards that are the same as or equal to those described in this policy. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell it.
The Boli app explains what will be sent and who will receive it, then asks your permission in the app before first sharing voice, photos, or writing with these AI services. You can decline a specific prompt and still use other parts of the app.
Children (Boli vs website)
When schools enrol learners under 13, Boli is a school-directed educational service. Schools should create those accounts only after any parental notice or consent their policy and the law require. We limit use of children’s data to educational functionality and school administration. Parents should contact the school first for access, correction, or deletion.
The Tatras Data marketing website is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children on that website. If we learn that we have, we will delete it.
Sharing
- School staff in the same organisation can see learning data they need to teach
- Service providers process data only to run the service: hosting, email (SMTP), and the AI/speech providers named above
- We may disclose information if required by law, to enforce our policies, or to protect rights, property, or safety
- We do not sell or rent personal information and do not use children’s data for behavioural advertising
Retention
Learning records and voice files are kept while the student account is active for the school’s programme, unless the school sets a shorter policy. Schools can delete student accounts; deletion removes account data from the primary database and purges associated media files when those files are tracked by the system.
Legal basis (where applicable)
- Consent — in-app permission before sending data to third-party AI, or website communications sign-up
- Contract — providing the Boli service the school has arranged, or completing a website request
- Legitimate interests — security, reliability, and (for the website) usage analysis
- School authorisation of educational use for student accounts provisioned by the school
Your privacy rights
Subject to applicable law you may request access, correction, erasure, data portability, to object to certain processing (such as direct marketing), or to withdraw consent where processing is based on consent.
For Boli student accounts, parents should usually work through the school. To exercise rights, email info@tatrasdata.com.
Security
Tatras Data uses access controls, hashed passwords, encrypted credential storage on mobile devices, and HTTPS on production servers to help protect information against unauthorised processing, accidental loss, or destruction.
Third-party links
Our website or app may contain links to sites we do not control (for example Open Library / Internet Archive). We are not responsible for their privacy practices.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted at https://tatrasdata.com/privacy-policy/ and, where relevant, in the Boli app.
